Yep, 25 more days and it's the start of my Senior year.
I've been working on it for 3 yrs now and it finally, finally, finally took off for me 7 weeks ago when one of mom's co-workers hired me to train his horses. He asked me earlier in the spring but our schedules never clicked. Then we ran up to the horse auction one night to sell a bunch of tack and since he lives just a few minutes away, we were able to run by.
I have 4 horses to work right now focusing on 2 in particular: Sunshine and Dorie are the most important to work; then Crystal and Lady. I've only been going up for 6 weeks, Sundays only, and I have Sunshine able to be mounted outside of the round pen as well as trotting, Dorie's had 2 rides now, Lady's quit trying to kill me and Crystal is still unbroke. That last little booger can buck your pad right out from under your saddle!!!!!!
Check out these pics:
This is Crystal Rose & look at the stupid fly.
The flies are TERRIBLE out there!
1st time for Dorie to have a rider!!!
Lady and yes that is a lounge line.
Lady has been a broodmare for most of her life.
She's 20 yrs old and has not been ridden in over a decade.
What you didn't see what Lady try to toss me over the rail minutes earlier.
My favorite: Little Miss Sunshine
She's too smart for her own good.
I just love this horse!

I've made enough money to buy a truck but shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. It's a ginormous surprise.
Working my SAE horses inspired me and for once, the barn where I was boarding until recently was empty when we got there to check on our horses. I took the opportunity to work Sundance who quite frankly has been a hot mess since my ex and his new gf tried to "train" him. It's taken nearly 2 years to undo their damage. Grrrrrrrrr !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's Sundance, our BLM mustang. This is the 1st time he's had his saddle on since 2011. No explosions or wrecks. Just a good boy!!!
Sundance: A Fresh Start
Oh heck yeah!!
I have to admit that I probably would not have the courage to do everything I've been doing if it weren't for FFA. The strength and values FAA is teaching me in addition to everything my parents have instilled in me is turning me into the young woman I am still working on!!!
I even ran for Miss Callaway County this summer.
My mommy and me started team sorting. It's so much fun. We have our "Wild Ones" tack' mine's the zebra print and mom is the giraffe (of course).
We got 6 calves sorted and penned our 1st time out!!!!
We also moved into a new house. I have this awesomely huge room with a private deck, two walk in closets and my own full bathroom. It's amazing because it's at the back of the house with an almost private entrance. If I get hungry in the middle of the night, I can just roll down my 3 little steps into the kitchen! The house is so gorgeous. It's got a bright new kitchen with appliances that work (long story, old house, bleh).
I got a kitten named Alice!!!!
Its going to be an amazing Senior Year!
